Leyburn Mart has been in business since 1919 and is geographically ideally situated to provide services to Yorkshire's Upper Dales together with lower lying farms to the south and east as well as large areas of County Durham from which they also draw many customers. Clients travelling from further afield find an easy access from the main A1 artery whose junctions from the north or south leave a simple twenty minute journey to the market town of Leyburn.
The mart operates under the management of Stephen Walker and Company Secretary Charmaine Fletcher together with ten farmer directors who all play an active part in the twice weekly sales and the special shows and sales of pedigree and commercial stock.
All vendors have the opportunity to collect a cheque from the proceeds of their sale immediately after their livestock is sold.
